It seems tat Wen's speech has improved lately. She could understand what we are talking about and expect her to do most of time when we told her.
Juz like yesterday in the bus, on our way sending her for her holiday program, our little conversation:
Wen: Heart-shape (cos she was wearing something with tat shape on her blouse)
Mama: Ya, heart-shape
Wen: Heart-shape
Mama: Do you like strawberry?
Wen: NO (i was actually quite shock to hear her replying me and I asked again to re-confirm)
Mama: Do you like strawberry?
Wen: NO
Mama: Do you like apple?
Wen: Apple...apple (have not hear her say 'YES' before, normally will repeat the word being asked to indicate yes)
Mama: Do you like banana?
Wen: Nana (she still dunno how to say banana and still stick to nana)
There are many other new words added in like 'spectacles', I'm full, aunty, uncle, etc...but her few fave words are still ball, mimi (means mummy), baobao (means carry), pee gu (buttock), car, taxi and bus.
I dunno if this is the right development milestone for a 19 months old child or rather there is no right or wrong but only fast or slow. There should not be any comparison between children too as each child takes it differently. This is so as 2 siblings who came out from the same womb also wouldn't have the same developmental milestone given at the same age. Moreover we should also trust the professionalism of a PD.
Dun get me wrong, this is nothing personal and I'm not venting any frustration here but merely stating the thots tat are in me right now :)
