I'm Learning Maths!!!
Mummy has started her very own Maths lesson with me. She has finally find time to DIY her own maths dots card so as to incorporate into her lesson plan using the Glenn doman method. Me think my life starts to be busy from now on......who knows what's coming rite after maths????

I only went thru dots cards with her. Have yet to go thru Numerals ith her.
ReplyDeleteU can try a few methods so as not to bore the little gal.
Flash dots 1 - 20 1st, then introduce simple equations (include equations using all signs +-X/)while at the same time continue flashing dots 21-100. After simple equation, move on to more difficult one.)
After all dots then move on to numeral. I've stopped flashing maths for a while oredi, now exposing chinese cards but will return to it after chinese.
Must always switch cos my little dar easily bored :)

ReplyDeleteWanted to ask you abt the equations. How do you flash the cards? I mean do you put the equation eg. 2 + 7 on one side and the ans on the reverse side or simply 2 + 7 = 9 all in one side?
ReplyDeleteI didnt show her the dots in the end. She didnt seems interested. So I continued with the numeral on one side and the word on the reverse which I've started earlier. She now knows both. So I guess I'll continue.
Pai say .. ;p I only know how to flash words. Planning to show her simple sentence (like 3-4 words in a sentence) and chinese once my printer is repaired.
Hi elaine, If wat I did was I'll put all 3 cards stacked together e.g. (2+5=7)I'll flash 2 then say PLUS then show the card 5 followed by saying EQUAL and finish up with showing her the card 7.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay not to show dots. Go easy since learning should be fun and enjoyable for both mum and child. No point forcing. If I see Wenzel losing interest, I'll stop for few days before returing back to the same material. Hopw this tip helps.
