Gong Gong's Birthday

Today is my gong-gong's 65th birthday. We have already celebrated for him on Monday nite before setting off for Malacca the next day as my super-duper busy jiu-jiu for sure couldn't take time off on weekend.

What we did was simple. We had DIY steamboat over at jiu-jiu's house. All of us had our tummy filled with lotsa lotsa yummy food. The whole celebration was joyous and fabulous.

After which, we had some cakes and longevity buns (壽桃). Ah ma says birthday couldn't do without the longevity bun especially for the oldies.
Actually I could see that gong-gong was so happy cos for many years he seldom has any birthday celebration. Ah ma and gong-gong are not into celebration for all events not even the children's birthday. But one thing for sure, ah ma will prepare a bowl of yummy mee sua with egg for every birthday person in the family on their lunar birthday.

On the other hand, mimi will make sure she gives ah ma and gong-gong gift and buy them cake every year without fail ever since she started working. But this year cake was bot by jiu-ma as mimi got no time to buy. We had yummy aloe vera cake from Jack's Place. This is a very unique flavor as none of us could actually tell the flavor when we ate it.
Now with me along, I'm sure they will find celebrating birthdays to be more meaningful and significant. All of us had a great time there including me.....I was busy creating havoc in jiu-jiu's house :)
