After reading the pledge by my wife and kids, I have decided to do my part as a family movement too.
As I have to work shift on a regular basis, my involvement with the kids and family is very minimum. This will be a super busy year ahead 'cos our new member will be arriving on Earth in August.
Strong marriage foundation is very important in every family as it provides children with the right environment to grow in and communication is the key to it. Therefore, I always make sure we have at least few minutes of couch time for updating each other of daily happenings.
To my kids, I'm more of a disciplinarian at home inculcating the correct values and cultures. However, I do play silly games and reading story to them too. I'll continue to bring them out whenever I could and I always ensure outing happen once a week, be it jogging in the park, bringing them to nearby mall, buying groceries together or letting them enjoy at the playground.
With this pledge, I hope I could win them free admission to the Universal Studios coming Sat as I have already took leave to bring them for Family Day Out @Sentosa.
NATIONAL FAMILY CELEBRATIONS 2010 (NFC 2010)
Organised by the National Family Council, National Family Celebrations is an annual event which celebrates and reinforces the importance of families and family life. This year, Singaporeans are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their families by being a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement.
To provide opportunities for Singaporeans to follow through on the pledges to their families, there are a myriad of activities under the NFC 2010 calendar – which will interest the young, the old, and everyone in between!
