Pressie Pressie

Mummy's good friend at her workplace gave me this very big birthday present wrapped with my fave character, Dora the explorer wrapper. I fell in love with the wrapper pressie the moment I see it and kept pestering mummy to open up thinking inside must be some Dora stuff as well. :)

This is a fruitful year for me. Besides the lotsa lotsa pressies that I have received thus far, this is my 1st year enjoying celebrating my own birthday and I fully understand the meaning of it.
But still I enjoy ripping off wrapper more, tsk tsk tsk :)

So what are you still waiting for? Did not catch enuf of my direct hint? Buy me more present lah, hehehehe......

Alvin and the Chipmunks

After aunty Karen burned gave mummy a pirated copy of Alvin and the Chipmunks VCD, I got hooked on it since then. Actually I have already watched it in the cinema but now I have the luxury of watching it repeatedly and as and when I like while at home.

Papa being a super 'Original Guy', decided to buy the original copy for me. He is really very original one, always insist to buy Code 1 DVD. Papa actually wanted to buy "Enchanted" DVD for me cos mummy said dun need to waste money since got replica copy liao. However he saw this Collector's Edition with the 3 little chipmunk fellas inside the box looks rather cute and interesting, papa decided to buy this instead as he knew very well I'll love it.
True enuf!! Look at my happy look above upon seeing the 3 fellas. Mummy and papa's nightmares has juz started cos I not only want to watch once or twice but at least thrice a day (morning, noon and b4 bedtime). Think I could even recite and recall every scene b4 the screen shows. I sing the chipmunk song day in day out until my school teachers feedback to mummy and papa. :)

My Cheena Buff-Day :)

Today is also consider as my birthday according to the lunar calender.

We had a 'home-affair' celebration with all family members around except jiu-jiu and jiu-ma. Our star guest is Uncle Willie aka papa's good friend. Aunty Ailing didn't come along with Uncle Willie (must be Uncle Willie made Aunty Ailing angry :p)

Mummy said the celebration is suppose to be scheduled on coming Wednesday, my actual ang moh date but jiu-ma wanted to arrange food-tasting for their wedding on that day instead and at the same time celebrate my birthday. Woohoo...... Wedding of course more important right? Moreover, who will reject another round of celebration? :)

Initially I wasn't aware there will be a mini party for me as all my guests only flocked in in the late afternoon when I was tidur-ing. I woke up to realise that there were so many people in the house with the noise and the gifts on the floor.

Of course I'm happy like a bird to see so many people. Mummy also happy cos godpapa brought his company's camera to test out (sorry, dunno which model as mummy is blur blur one), thus he became my camera man for the event and mummy can retire temporary from taking photographs. :p

Mummy loves the close-up shots so much cos her LKK digital camera can never achieve this standard. I think gotto do with her snapping skill also lah, hahaha :)

Nice shots of ME, isn't it? *shyless*

After the guests had enuf makan-ing of lontong, satay, salad, finger food........specially prepared by ah ma, the long awaiting moment has arrived. Cake-cutting for me, Yippee!! Mummy bot me a STRAWBERRY ICE-CREAM CAKE from Angie The Choice. Yum yum yum...... :p
The cake was cleared right away after cutting. Wonder if the cake is too small or ah ma has cut the slices too big. However, everyone has gotten their share with the below 2 pieces for mummy and me but not enuf for 2nd helping.
I'll take the piece with cherries of course as I specially indicated my preference to reserve that particular piece for me. :)
Godpapa gave me some 'education fund' in the red packet and next I proceeded to the most exciting moment - opening of my pressies.
See what I have got??? Cool....from clothing to Art n Craft Play Sets. Thanks all for your presence and pressies.

Wenz' Portfolio

My colleague used to tell me that her intention to send her gal to childcare is to ensure her daughter is well taken care of with proper nutrition as well as learning. She has no problem with this but she keeps complaining to me that instead of providing convenience to the parents, her daughter's school requires parents to do some 'homework' with their children to foster stronger bonding.

She hates doing this type of homework as she finds it a hassle and she has tons of work to settle. Not only she has to work, she has to cook for her family, do house chores, coach her older kid, running errands and of course her own things to do. Talking about house chores, this already comprises loads of super-duper heavy things to do like sweeping, moping, wiping, cleaning, ironing and the list goes on. Thus she is rather reluctant whenever comes to this type of homework. I always console and encourage her to be more involved. Moreover this type of homework is quite easy to complete and is indeed good for building better communication and relationship. All you need is maybe a little of your precious time.

My gal went back to school after her long fever break. I was surprised when the school gave 'homework' for all parents to do as I did not expect playgroup also gotto do work. Every parents is being given a big file with instructions stated. All parents are required to do up their own child's portfolio. Now I can fully understand my colleague's feeling. I'm willing and happy to do such a task but this really took up a lot of my time. Filling up personal info, cutting and pasting are simple tasks to achieve but you need time to look for suitable material to cut and paste.

I spent the most time decorating the 6 dividers in the file. The 6 categories are Language, Numerals, Fine Motor Skill, Gross Motor Skill, Music & Movements and Social.

On a good note, this is really good as it bring back lotsa pleasant memory when I recall myself doing lotsa cutting and pasting during school days. Feel so young once again!!! :p

Not Again???

First was Wenz, now is Denz' turn. *sigh* Poor boy must have caught some fever virus from his jiejie. I noticed Denz' high fever when I woke up to feed him milk at 3am. Arrrgh.....why must the kids always kena viruses???

Poor me gotto scrifice my precious sleep time AGAIN!!! :(

HFMD??

I received a call from Wenz' school on Wed (16/04) for the first time and of course it was something bad. I was informed that this gal has develop slight fever and needed to be sent home for recuperation cos her school actually suspected Wenz has kena HFMD. OMG! I was dead worried after receiving this call and called mum to make necessary arrangement for someone to go fetch Wenz home. She was alright in the morning and has passed thru her initial check before allowing to enter class but last did I expect such a thing to happen. *sigh*

Hubby brought her to the nearby clinic and GP has confirmed Wenz was having slight fever but her fever and other symptoms has got nothing to do with HFMD. Felt really relieved upon hearing this when hubby called me back. However, her fever developed into high fever the next morning when I went over to check on her. She asked me to stay with her and lie besides her which I did so as not to disappoint this little gal. Shortly after, she vomited and all I could say was "Atrocious". The vomittous was really a lot. It was a great deal cleaning up the mess and changing everything.

I have decided to take urgent leave and bring her to the doctor again as vomiting is also one of the symptoms in HFMD. Luckily doctor reaffirmed it is not HFMD. Wenz did not attend school on Friday as fever has not subsided fully. Still I'm not letting Wenz go to school tmr even though she is like 85% recovered as it is better to be safe than to be sorry. Sufficient rest for the gal is the most important in determining her 101% recovery. Moreover there are 2 HFMD cases in her school. She is merely unlucky to have caught the fever virus. Hopefully her immune system will get stronger after this ordeal.

Happy 7 Months!!!

Denz has turned 7 months old and it was as if yesterday that he was born. Time really past by so fast. Even my ML also said so, she feels that time passes by faster looking after Denz than during Wenz' time. Maybe we are all too pre-occupied with looking after 2 kids that we dun have the luxury to spend sufficient personal time with anyone of them.

Denz has started to slow down his pace of development as he has already know how to crawl, sit, stand with support and even walk while holding onto something sturdy last month. The only thing everyone is waiting for is for him to take his very 1st step unassisted. In fact, I have noticed that he has tried letting go his hand when trying to walk in his playpen a few times. I won't be surprise he might start walking earlier than Wenz. He will be extremely happy when he is able to walk a few steps with his hands not holding onto anything.

He is in the stage of mastering 'thumb-index finger grasping skill. I saw him trying to pick up strands of hair a few times using his thumb and index finger. He might be able to self-feed himself with baby finger-food soon.

He is still as talkative and he has added in lotsa some 'manja-ness' in him recently. He longs to be carried and will be extremely happy if being carried. If he sees me walking past him without carrying him, 'nice music' will follow after.

His hair is getting longer and longer and it irritates him alot. He keeps on scratching his head and pulling his hair. Sometimes he knows how to pull but dunno how to let go till he cries. He is sooo farny, isn't it? Sounds a little silly too but generally he is looks very adorable to me :p

Happy 7 months old to my BOY. Stay healthy and cheerful always. :)

Kool Craft

The final look of my 'not-so-hard work' :p

My workplace has organised a "Beads, Knots & Pendants" workshop for all staff. Needless to mention, I also went to kaypo kaypo though these girly activities weren't really my cup of tea. :p

I went to the workshop site with the intention merely to see see look look. I was greeted to the 1st station teaching participants to tie various type of Chinese Knots. I gave this station a miss cos I know myself best. My fingers were not born to be that flexible. Next was the beads station teaching various type of beads-earings. Every participants could DIY their own preferred design earings. I went to the last station seeing some of my colleagues tracing, drawing and coloring on a piece of transparency-like sheet. I sat down and figure out what was this station all about.

I joined in for this activity and traced a cartoon character, drew my kids' name on, added in some colors and cut it out. This transparency-like sheet actually SHRINK when you place your final product into the oven. Cool right? Another great idea for kids during party if I ever conduct in future :)

I Can Spell My Name

I have been teaching Wenz to spell her name and she surprised me last week finally. Click link to see her spell her own name. She used to answer "Wenzel" only whenever people ask for her name but now she will spell it out "W-E-N-Z-E-L" then say out her name loud "WENZEL". Ya Ya only. :)

She is so cute. I have extracted the sound out and this has become hb and my mobile's message tone. The next thing I'm gonna do is to train her to write her name without support. This is a big headache cos she expresses the 'no-interest' look whenever I get her to sit in front of the easel board. :(

Well well well, patience is wat I need perhaps.

1st Tooth for Denz

We have been waiting for Denz' 1st tooth to erupt and finally we could see white pearlies cutting thru his lower gums, not one but TWO at a go. No wonder it has caused great irritation to him.
He drools alot and kept biting cum chewing on his toes and hands. He'll put whatever you give him into his mouth as well. It all coincides together on that week where he fell ill. Wonder why there isn't any photo on this? Well, he'll bite my fingers off if I open his mouth and try to snap a good photo of his 2 little pearlies.

With 2 teeth for more chewing ability, more food was being introduced to him. He has started to eat avocado, tofu, broccoli, carrot, bread and so much more...... However his milk intake has decreased since then. Hopefully he can pick up on this.
